Technical Director. I inherited the gig last year and I guess I did OK cos they asked me back this year.
Venue was Fort Mason in San Francisco. Typical show direction but setup required some last minute bandaids in the sense that the San Francisco fog, which had been typically present for the first two days, dissipated on rehearsal day and shafts of sunlight wheeled around the hall as the day went on. While rehearsals were in the evening, show time was in the morning and thanks to the invaluable Sun Surveyor app (free app, folks) I could determine that the sun would indeed strike our screen mid morning for at least half an hour. Sun Surveyor lets you deduce the angle of incidence of sunlight for any time of any calendar day from whereever you are standing with your phone. Hence I could figure out exactly how much of the hundreds of feet of skylight to mask. It's such a high ceiling though, I had to send carps to the roof to drape from the outside. Problem solved.
The PPT slide shown here is a genuine slide from the show obviously. Just a coincidence...
